About Siemens Foundational Technologies Department
Siemens Foundational Technologies is the central in-house research unit at Siemens and as such occupies an outstanding position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It acts as a strategic partner to support Siemensâ business units with R&D services, protects the companyâs intellectual property, coordinates the collaboration with top universities worldwide, and supports standardization activities in all business units and regions. Through its R&D activities in Germany, USA, Portugal, China, India, Japan, and Eastern Europe, Siemens Technology helps to secure the companyâs technological future and strengthen its ambition.
Your mission will beâŠ
- Work closely with the project manager, developers, testers, and UI/UX designers to translate high-level requests into detailed features and user stories
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on requirements gathering, technical solution design, configuration, testing, user acceptance, implementation, and documentation
- Participate in the development of technical concepts for software solutions
- Develop integrations between different system components
- Prepare architecture descriptions and specifications
- Optimize the analytics process
We are looking for someone withâŠ
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in explaining the functionality of developed software products
- Expertise in methodologies for requirements gathering and process description
- Strong negotiation skills to align requirements with stakeholders
- Ability to describe business processes, user behavior, and system functions
- Solid understanding of Agile methodology and development processes
- Knowledge of SQL and data model theory
- Understanding of systems integration principles (API, REST, gRPC, message brokers) and experience in specification preparation
- Proficiency in Flowchart, BPMN, and UML diagrams and notations
- Knowledge of microservice architecture principles and web applications
- Ability to comprehend complex systems and read source code
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, or similar tools
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken English
- Would be beneficial to have experience with:
- Python and NoSQL databases
- Domain driven design
- Unix systems
- Analyzing large datasets, including the use of machine learning methods
- BI analytics systems such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar
- Projects focused on the analysis and visualization of industrial data
- Drawing software like Draw.io or similar tools
- Interface prototyping, preferably using Figma
